Well, this week has been crazy! If people assume that teachers just go back to school when the summer is over and create bulletin boards of butterflies and welcome signs all day they are sorely mistaken. This week has been chaos...I am definitely feeling the stress of working again. I feel sorry that so many people have to feel this every day of the year. Thank goodness for the blessing of summer and being a teacher. This week was training after training, covocations about education and the state of our district, cutting, pasting, putting a name on every possible item for one little child, huh...deep breath...answering questions, creating documents, the list goes on and on. While I was driving home last night from meeting all of my new kiddos I started to think how funny it is that I thrive on this busyness. I love it. Don't get me wrong, I love my summers of nothing too, but give me a list of tasks and I am all over it. For some, it is always chaos, but I love the challenge of figuring it all out. I guess that is the way I am wired. I think I have mainly my father to thank for that, because he is the ultimate man with a plan always making sure that everything has a place so to speak.
So-the kids are wonderful...all 17 of them. Unfortunately I only met about 12 of them last night, but I can tell it is going to be a funny year. Yes, funny...I am ready for some great conversations. Seriously-a first grade conversation is all you need to truly forget about a lot of your problems, struggles, and hangups. 1st graders have a way with words that help you remember how innocent you once were. I love being reminded of that! S0-let the stories begin...it should be an exciting ride.

Thanks for the mention in your blog Kate; I feel really important!
always have a plan and a goal or at least a goal or dream, the plan can always work it's way out.
Great talking to you today; good lick at school.
Luv you.
