A big whiff of weird chalky hearts...

Why is it that as much as you say to yourself that Valentine's Day is just an over commercialized day of love that is stupid b/c we as a society should not need a special day set aside to say I love you to someone, do I still like this day? Yesterday I took a moment to stop during the handing out of Star wars, Barbie, Lego, and instant ta too Valentines to look at my class. All of them were getting a long...they were so giddy...the room was a sea of pink and red mailboxes/bags that the kids had so intricately decorated the night before. I loved it. I sniffed a big whiff of weird chalky candy hearts and remembered why I love this day...it's just fun. Brice always laughs at me because I use "fun" as an adjective...he doesn't understand how certain things can be "fun". Fun to him is more of a verb...it is something you do. Fun is not something that describes say...a cute shirt, card, or even a piece of food. A donut with sprinkles for example is fun to me. www.etsy.com is a fun website. See...it works! So-even though I have to spend this Valentine's alone, which I really don't care about because I know my husband and I have a love that is so in-describable that we celebrate every day of our lives, I am going to embrace it by wearing a fun red or pink shirt, eating some of the fun heart chocolate I got yesterday, and enjoy this FUN holiday.
