Today started amazing...I love Sunday mornings. There is something about getting the Sunday paper and having my coffee with soy creamer. As a sidebar, I love soy milk! It completes me. As I was saying my day started beautiful. I read that the temp today was only supposed to reach 107, what could be better?! Actually I love the heat, Brice and I even wore jeans...we must be true Texans!
Going to church this morning was another reason why today was so great. I love going to my church. Being there is comfortable yet uncomfortable at the same time. The reason I say uncomfortable is not because I feel out of place or that the people are weird (only Rodney), but because going to church makes me stop and think about how great God is. When I am there I am always hit with something new to ponder. Something that usually puts me in my place. Being with God and getting to worship Him with an amazing band leading is simply perfect. I wish more people could experience church like this. I fear that so many times church is boring, monotonous, blah for some people. It is just a place to go through the motions and have a good start to the week. I love that church for me is not like this anymore...however I can completely relate to what I described and still have some Sundays where I feel that way. Sundays like this are simply like this out of my own frustrations and are like this b/c I can't seem to be focused and truly there. If I didn't have 121 (my church named after Phil. 1:21) I would still hang out with God and get to know him, be in utter awe of Him, I would still pray, I would still ponder and reflect Him, yet a piece of me would be missing as 121 has revealed to me a woman whom I never knew existed. I know that a church is merely a building, yet I am so thankful for this building that I have in my life right now. I can't wait to see the journey to come.
So-the biggest most awesome part of my day was la iglesia. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.
